| China Imposes Export Tariff on Diammonium Phosphate |
The Ministry of Finance has recently issued a notice, imposing export tariff on diammonium phosphate and readjusting the tentative tariff rate on the export of phosphate rock, effective June 1st, 2007, in order to control the export of chemical fertilizers and ensure the supply in the domestic market. Seasonal tentative export tariff on the export of diammonium phosphate in general trade and border small-volume trade will be imposed. The tariff rate is 20% from June 1st to September 30th, 2007 and 10% from October 1st to December 31st, 2007. From June 1st to December 31st, 2007, the tentative tariff rate on the export of phosphate rock is increased from 10% to 20%.
